I hope this Christmas Card Preview cools you off and takes you to the land of snow and Christmas joy! It’s been up to 90 degrees here in Maine – hottest summer ever! I’m ready for a little relief from the h
eat and there’s nothing better than Christmas card making to lower the temperature! This is another card CASED from a Pinterest card. The Under the Mistletoe Christmas plaid paper and Christmas embellishment give it a totally different look from the original inspiration card from Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine.

How It’s Made
Cover the card base with the red plaid Under the Mistletoe paper. Add the stripe about an inch from the top. Next stamp the Joy (or your preferred sentiment) in Real Red Ink and cut it out with the small tag framelit from Wood Crate Framelits. Then cut the 2 1/2″ stitched shape circle out of Whisper white cardstock. Also cut the red decorative strip from the Petals & More Thinlits and the green branches from the Pretty Pines Thinlits. Adhere the decorative strip to the green stripe using a sponge to dab glue to the back of it. Adhere the stitched shape circle next with Dimensionals. Gather the branches greenery springs and tie them together with a 1/8″ red ribbon. Finally, use glue dots to adhere the tag and greenery to the stitched shape circle. Color rhinestones with a Sharpie or Stampin’ Blends marker and attach to greenery.
Substitute
You may have noticed I used 4 different framelits that cut shapes using a Big Shot Machine. You have punches or dies that are similar to these that you can substitute for the ones I used and get the same effect. Although I’d love for you to buy all 4 dies from me, that just isn’t practical! Use what you have – maybe a circle punch, different greenery or make your own tag. There are lots of ways to substitute supplies you have on hand to get a similar card – or maybe even a better design!
