Mother’s Day Treat Box

Here’s a Mother’s Day Treat BoxApron box holds a treat for mom by Lynda Falconer, Stampin Up Demonstrator at www.lyndafalconer.stampinup.net any mother would love!  Celebrate mom with an apron filled with something special.  This treat box is a breeze to make but the details make it irresistible!    It’s the perfect size to hold 3 or 4 Ghiradelli chocolate squares or perhaps a small piece of jewelry?  Customize your apron treat box with mom’s favorite colors.  If she’s not a cook, choose any of the other embellishments to customize it for yourself or the recipient.

Versatile Bundle

I love the versatility of this bundle (Apron of Love).  The accessories include both baking and barbeque  utensils so it works for both men and women, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, and the hard to find masculine birthday card or treat.  I can’t wait to make Stampin’ Up Aprons for my team!  You could make the cutest teacher or hair dresser appreciation gift with the scissors too.  The possibilities are endless!

Here’s How

This feminine version is made with 2 melon mambo aprons cut with a Big Shot  using the Apron Builder Framelits.  The aprons are decorated then glued to the front and back of the box.  The box is made from a 4 1/4″ x 3 3/4″ rectangle Apron box holds a treat for mom by Lynda Falconer, Stampin Up Demonstrator at www.lyndafalconer.stampinup.netof melon mambo cardstock.  It is scored  on all 4 sides at 1 1/4″ then folded on the score lines.  Then the 2 score lines on the both long sides are cut 1 1/4″ to the other score line so that you have 2 flaps on each end of both long sides.  These flaps are then folded in and glued to form the box.

The apron front is embellished before attaching it to the box.  I used Stampin’ Write markers to color the sentiment in two colors, then huffed on the stamp to moisten it before stamping.  The new Stamparatus made it easy to get a perfect stamp every time.  Next the sentiment was cut out with the pocket framelit and attached on 3 sides with dimensionals.  The top of the pocket was left open so that the utensils could be glued in.  A white heart and a baker’s twine bow top off the Mother’s Day Treat Holder.Apron box holds a treat for mom by Lynda Falconer, Stampin Up Demonstrator at www.lyndafalconer.stampinup.net
