Easter Party Favors with Easter Lamb

I fell in love with this little Easter Lamb Stamp!  He was so perfect for so many projects!  This is the mini treat bag embellished with a banner tag, lacIMG_6627e, doily, stamp, pink glitter flower and strawberry slush twine.  It is just the right size to fit a Russell Stover’s Marshmallow Egg – my personal favorite!  In fact, we made these for Scrap Club the other day and I hid the eggs so everyone had to find the egg to put in their treat bag.  You’re never too old to hunt Easter eggs!

The bag isn’t difficult.  It is cut from the Mini Treat Bag Framelit die cut from Stampin’ Up using a Big Shot machine. The paper is Birthday Bouquet DSP and has beautiful flowers, ice cream cones, and neutrals such as dots and stripes. You simply fold the cut out bag on the creases and attach the tabs and back with Fast Fuse or Tear and Tape.  Regular tape runner is not strong enough to hold it when you’re putting treats inside.

Next cut a 2 1/2 inch banner from the pink stripe and attach a strip of mint macaroon lace to the side with tape runner.  Attach the banner to the bag with tape runner.  A doily comes next – folded over the left side of the bag on top of the banner and attached with tape runner.

The Easter Lamb is stamped on white cardstock with Staz-On Jet Black Ink.  It is permanent ink so it won’t smear when you use watercolor with it. Then cut out the lamb image with the Deco Labels Collection framelit.

TIP:  I almost always back labels, sentiments, etc with a contrasting color paper to make them pop.  I used a mint macaroon polka dot from the same paper collection to back the stamped lamb.  Since the next size in the framelit set was too big, I simply traced around the outside of the framelit (the one I used to cut the lamb label) on the mint paper and cut it out by hand.   You can use this technique for any framelit if you need a size about 1/8 inch larger.

I brushed the sky with Pool Party ink using an Aqua Painter (water color pen).  These pens make water coloring so easy with great results even for amateurs like me! Then use a pink (Blushing Bride) marker to make 2 round pink cheeks and color the inside of his little ears.  A touch of black marker  filled in the hooves and I traced the grass with light green marker (Mint Macaroon).

Do you ever wonder what to do with those eensy weensy pearls you always have leftover from your pearl pack?  They work great on the fleece of this little lamb.  I used tweezers (those pearls are booger bears to get up without them!) and randomly sprinkled them in the little circles that make up his fleece.

Now attach the two deco labels with pop dots (Stampin’ Dimensionals) and attach to the bag with more pop dots.  Then wrap the top of the bag with about 40″ of strawberry slush twine.  Tie a bow on the left side with a 2″ string of pearls in the middle.  The flower was punched out of pink glitter paper with a pearl or pink enamel dot on top.  Attach with glue dot.

The best part is deciding what wonderful surprise goes inside!!  These would be great party favors for an Easter Party or adorning the dinner plates at Easter dinner.  You could also tape over the “happy Easter” sentiment and use them for a baby shower or birthday party for a young child.
