Clutch Purse Note Cards
As promised, here are closeups and measurements of the clutch purse note cards shown on my previous blog post HERE. Instead of adding the picture card with the coupon pocket on the back, you could opt to add note cards on both sides of the purse. It will hold up to 6 note cards and envelopes. Four cards inside also make a nice gift. So here are the cards I made with the Needlepoint Nook Suite papers and embellishments with measurements for each.
The flower card is the most complicated although it’s not a hard card to make. Start with a 3 1/2″ x 5″ Whisper White card base. Run the stitched framelit from the Needlepoint Elements Framelits through the Big Shot to get the stitches on the top right o the card front. Adhere a 1 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ strip of designer paper at the bottom of the card. I used Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper for all the cards. Next add a 3/4″ x 3 1/2″ strip of the red stripe paper and glue a 3 1/2″ length of Venetian Crochet Trim or similar ribbon to the top of the strip. I used tape runner for all these sections.
Stamp the leaves stamp with Old Olive on the top of the card front. Stamp and cut out the 2 flowers with the framelits at the same time. The larger flower uses Poppy Parade Ink and the smaller is stamped with Crushed Curry. Wrap 24″ of Old Olive twine as shown and secure middle with a glue dot in center of leaves. Use Dimensionals to attach flowers. Embellish with a button and leaf die cuts as shown.
Card with Gold Seal
The Gold Seal card is quick and easy to make. Start by covering the front of a 3 1/2″ x 5″ Whisper White Note Card with designer paper of the same size. Adhere a 3/4″ x 3 1/2″ contrasting paper strip about 1″ from top of card front. Add a strip of Venetian Crocheted Lace across the center of the strip and embellish with a gold seal from the Floral Romance Seals. You could also use a flower or button if you don’t have the seals. That’s it!
Oval Embellishment Card
The Oval Embellishment Card also begins with a 3 1/2″ x 5″ Whisper White note card. The top portion is covered with 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ square of designer paper. The bottom portion measures 1 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ and is cut from a contrasting paper. Adhere 3 1/2″ length of Crushed Curry ribbon between the two sections. Next embellish this card with a 2 1/4″ Poppy Parade cardstock oval backed with a 2 3/8″ Old Olive cardstock scalloped oval cut with the Big Shot. Fussy cut a flower from the Needlepoint Nook DSP to pop dot onto the ovals, then top the flower with a tiny button. Finally, embellish envelopes for all cards with the decorative stitched images in the Needle & Thread Stamp Set.
Finally, the last 3 clutch purse note cards are the same design with different color combos. Here are the layer dimensions.
Card Front – Whisper White 3 1/2″ x 5″
First Layer – Poppy Parade CS 3 1/4″ x 4 3/4″
Second Layer – Flirty Flamingo CS 3″ x 4 1/2″
Run the top layer through the big shot with the stitched framelit. It cuts holes to look like stitches but does not cut the outside of the image out. Then adhere the layers together with tape runner and accent with colored pearls, Wink of Stella glitter brush, or leave it plain with a simple single pearl in the center.
I’ve posted a HOW TO VIDEO on my Crafter Inspired Facebook Page and am planning to redo it for YOUTube this week. I am still struggling with FB Live but am learning more each time I do a video live. The sideways issue still haunts me but I am working on it!!!
