Deck the Halls
This card was created by Stampin’ Up showing the perfect way to spice up that yearly Christmas photo in a handmade card. This is simple enough to produce in mass quantity while still retaining that personal touch that makes the recipient feel special. The bold sentiment is the focus on the top vellum layer . Deck the Halls was stamped in black ink on a 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ sheet of vellum (Carols of Christmas stamp set). The vellum was then run through the Big Shot twice to cut the elegant border using the Card Front Builder Framelit Dies. A sprig of holly was stamped and die cut to embellish the sentiment. The vellum and a black and white family photo measuring the same size (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ ) were attached with a glue dot and topped with a red ribbon and linen thread bow. A personal Christmas greeting could be written on the back of the photo and signed.
Peace on Earth
Here’s my first Christmas card design using the Carols of Christmas bundle. I love the vintage style sentiment and the extra large size makes it the star of any card. The sentiment was stamped on Cherry Cobbler cardstock with Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder. Then It was cut out with the Lots of Labels framelit along with a Whisper White label cut one size larger. The sentiment label was mounted on the Whisper White label with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The white card base measures 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. It is topped with a 4″ x 5 1/4″ red star paper from the Let’s Be Merry Designer Series Paper. I cut the border frame from the Card Front Builder Framelit Dies – once on each end then embellished with silver metallic enamel stars. Finally the label sentiment is adhered with tape runner to complete your card.
Products Used
If you don’t choose to join with the special, the Carols of Christmas Stamp set and Card Front Builder Framelits will be available to all customers August 1st . I’ve included a chart with item number details and prices, as well as a list of other current products used with links to my online store. You can also go to my online store HERE. Be sure to come back tomorrow to see the second new card design – the colors are little unconventional but I love it!
Happy Crafting!
