We had a CAMPTASTIC day at the 3rd Annual Scrap Diva Day Camp! Campers enjoyed a day of projects and pampering with party favors, goodie bags, Dirty Santa, food, and fun! And of course there was CHOCOLATE! A decorated jar of chocolates and a party favor project greeted campers as they entered the “craftsite”. We started the day with a “happy” in the form of a framed quote that fit the mood of camp – “She believed she could so she did!” We stuck to that theme as we created a canvas, card organizer, and Project Life pages before the day ended. Mr. Larry cooked yummy hamburgers for lunch and we took a break for brownie sundaes in the afternoon. So sweet!
The framed quote was a quick and easy project starting with cute wooden frames from the dollar bin at Michael’s. We cut out patterned paper for a mat to cover the back, then stamped the sentiment on white cardstock and cut it out with a Framelit from the Chalk Talk set using the Big Shot. Tape runner was used to adhere the sentiment to the backing. The flower was made by cutting 4 of the same flower or a mixture from the Flower Fair Framelit set along with 2 green leaves. Both leaves and flower petals were curled with a pencil or bone folder. The flower center was a rectangle of yellow polka dot paper cut 6″ x 1/2 “. Then we used the fringe scissors to fringe the long side, leaving about 1/8 ” at the bottom. We put peel off tape down the bottom then tightly rolled up the fringe to form a flower center. Glue dots worked to adhere the flower layers together and attach it to the frame with 2 green leaves. Most of us thought it was too pretty to give away and was the perfect addition to our crafting space!
The projects were fun but the best part of camp, as always, was the friendships that formed as we shared our love for crafting! I can’t wait to share all our projects with you so stay tuned! If you need supplies that we used for the picture frame just click the links below.
