Summer Card with Lighthouse in Come Sail Away Suite

Summer Card Goes Nautical

Make the perfect summer card with the Come Sail Away Suite. This card uses the Sailing Home Stamp Set and Smooth Sailing Dies and Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper. Created by Lynda Falconer at www.lyndafalconer.stampinup.net.Do you need a summer card to keep in touch with friends and family and recognize their special days?  Then “Come sail away with me” to create some nautical magic with the Come Sail Away Suite on page 145 in the new Stampin’ Up Annual Catalog.

I love the versatility of the stamp set which includes 12 detailed images and the coordinating framelit dies with 3 beautiful label cut outs.

This summer card has lots of layers which add texture and interest to make it pop.  The card base is the standard Whisper White card stock with 4 layers on top.  I stamped the images in Night of Navy ink then colored parts of the lighthouse with a Real Red Dark Blends Marker.

Products used in summer card include Sailing Home Stamp Set and Smooth Sailing Dies. Shop at www.lyndafalconer.stampinup.net.Light Crumb Cake is used on the sand  The thick baker’s twine is Night of Navy/Sahara Sand and unravels easily to resemble rope.

The Sailing Home Stamp Set is so versatile with sentiments for thank you, congratulations, hope, and encouragement.  The sentiments coordinate with the images so it’s easy to pull in an anchor or compass to embellish the inside of the card that works with the sentiment on the card front.  I added a Happiness Blooms enamel dot to the top of the lighthouse on the card front and a Noble Peacock Rhinestone on the center of the compass inside.  The compass also has a separate needle you could cut out with the dies in silver and attach with a brad to make your card interactive.

I chose to use the die cut for the ship’s wheel to embellish the card front.  You could also add one of the Sail Away Trinkets (wheel or anchor in silver) to add a little sparkle.

Check out the endless possibilities in the Come Sail Away Suite!  There’s even a Memories & More Pack to make scrapbook pages and quick cards.   If you need any Stampin’ Up products and don’t have a demonstrator, I’d love to earn your business.  See more ideas or shop at www.lyndafalconer.stampinup.net.  Click any product below to see details or shop.  Be sure you sign up for my newsletter using the link to get up to date specials and project ideas.
